Что такое the sims 3 30 fps

«A 60hz monitor refreshes the screen 60 times per second. Therefore, a 60hz monitor is only capable of outputting 60fps. It can still feel smoother to play at a higher framerate than your monitor can display however, because input lag with your mouse will be reduced. You might also start to see tearing though, which happens when your videocard is rendering frames faster than your monitor can display them.»

«^^He nailed it, a 60Hz monitor can only display 60 frames on the screen per second because the screen displays one frame per refresh (or Hz). However it may «feel» smoother due to latency decreases.»

«Note, though, that refresh rate is not the same as frame rate. Refresh rate is an attribute of the monitor, while frame rate is an attribute of the information being sent to it. Improving refresh rate will not improve frame rate unless the frame rate of the content you’re viewing can exceed the refresh rate of your current monitor.»

«V-sync is a common solution to tearing on 60Hz displays, as it caps the frame rate of a game at 60 FPS (in most games). But V-sync can introduce input lag and it limits the performance potential of a PC. Many gamers find a game running without V-sync on a 120Hz monitor more responsive than the same game running with V-sync enabled on a 60Hz monitor.»

  • General — Integrated Graphics
The reason for your issue is that your computer doesn’t meet the minimum requirements to play TS2/TS3.
In particular, you don’t actually have a graphics card — you have integrated graphics, which is just a chip on your motherboard. Most laptops come with integrated graphics, as do some desktops; and while salesmen often claim that integrated graphics chips are just as good as real graphics cards, they’re not.

Integrated graphics chips are designed for people who just use their computers to read email, type up documents, and play minesweeper — they are not suitable for high stress games like TS2/TS3. At the very least, playing TS2/TS3 with integrated graphics will mean the game looks terrible; at the worst, you could permanently damage your computer.
If you have integrated graphics, the other requirements — particularly minimum processor speed — go up to compensate. You can see the increases here, under «If you have a non-T&L capable video card. «.

This FAQ contains tips on things you can do to improve your gameplay, and prolong the life of the integrated chip: Game Help:Onboard Graphics wiki

  • for The Sims 3: Game_Help:TS3_System_Requirements wiki

Be aware that, even if you follow all the tips in the above article, you will probably have to upgrade or replace your computer to alleviate all problems.

The New FPS message must be something you have running in the background — maybe FRAPS, or another performance monitoring or graphics tweaking program. Unfortunately, the cause of the issue is simply that your computer is not good enough to play TS3 on. Sorry. 🙁

I’ve just downloaded the sims 3 to my laptop and it has 2 desktop icons, launch sims or launch sims (with 30fps limiter) this is the first pc game ive installed since the original sims so have no idea what this means, i know its something to do with a graphics card but all i know is my laptop has one can. show more I’ve just downloaded the sims 3 to my laptop and it has 2 desktop icons, launch sims or launch sims (with 30fps limiter)

can anyone tell me which one i need to use?

the other way around actually. The normal exe is for older computers that struggle running the Sims 3 while the 30 fps exe is for stronger computers since the Sims 3 CANNOT run above 30 fps without suffering crippling performance issues that get worse the better your computer is until you bottleneck out at the maximum resources the 32-bit program can utilize.

It’s one of those bizarre cases where you actually want to limited your FPS to a low amount so you can actually benefit from your increased power, since otherwise it spends massive amount of system resources trying to render non-existent frames the game engine can’t even use, instead of devoting that power to the simulation.
